Do you find it challenging to live an inspired life in a world that accepts mediocrity and misery as defining qualities of existence? Well it’s possible and this weekend I met a man who embodies inspired living.
Now an internationally recognized musician, this man held fast to the vision of making a name for himself, despite being surrounded by local skepticism and small thinking.
Fascinated by his trajectory of success, I inquired about his winning formula that enabled him to make it happen when so many don’t. Simply put, he is committed to living in an inspired state and every day he chooses to think and act in ways that support this state. When negativity or doubt creeps in from the outside, he quickly unplugs from the source and re-aligns his attention to his dreams.
It takes great awareness, focus and willpower to disentangle from the habit of mediocrity and misery, but as the law of karma teaches, what we give out, we get back. Just because a friend or family member lives a narrow minded, limited life, doesn’t mean you have to blindly join the ranks.
It is important to first, know exactly how you want to live and second, you must wake up each day and willingly step into that vision.
Wondering if it really works? A few months ago, my new musician friend was asked to be the opening number for a band who had been his childhood idol.
Here’s to an inspired week of awareness, focus and willpower.
