Two years ago today I began writing this blog with the intention of inspiring people to assume their ultimate responsibility for being a force of love and goodness in the world. I don’t use the word responsibility to ignite a negative sense of obligation. I use it to remind you of why you’re here, which is to follow in the footsteps of those gone by who devoted their lives to building a better world.
One of the greatest thinkers of humanity once said “A hundred times a day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.”
Aware of the sacrifices of previous generations, Albert Einstein lived with a strong sense of responsibility to contribute positively while walking on the earth.
The warriors of the past protected our rights and affected change through physical effort and violence. We warriors of today are called upon to access a greater force. This force we are awakening is as powerful as the atomic bomb, only it’s an inner explosion of consciousness awareness.
Today and everyday moving forward, let’s commit and recommit to this new way of living, one that is radically inclusive, compassionate, and loving. By showing up in this fashion we become, as Gandhi stated, “The change we wish to see in the world.”
